My Poor Son...

Carson went for his 6 month dental appt. last month and his dentist recommended that we get him in to the orthodontist for a consult. He has a very small mouth and his adult teeth are huge! Knowing Carson, his dentist said that we would wait to do his sealants until we knew if the orthodonist wanted anything done (because Carson...my stinker...has to be sedated for dental work!) Well, he had his ortho appt and the xray is pretty scary! My poor son has severe crowding issues! I'm no dentist but I took one look at the xray and said, "oh my"! So, in two weeks, Carson has to have 5...yes 5 teeth pulled just so that his adult teeth can come in. Basically, with most of his adult teeth, there are 2 teeth trying to get into 1 spot. We told Carson that he was going to see Dr. Roth in a couple of weeks and they were going to give him medicine to make him go to sleep again. He replied that he didn't need medicine anymore...because we'd just come from his ortho consult and it was painless...so he thinks it will always be like that now. I convinced him (without telling him about the extractions) that he probably would want to go to sleep! Below is his xray...all I can say when I look at it is...my poor boy!
