OK, EVERYONE else has blogs...so I guess it's time that I got current with the world! 6 months ago, I don't think that I even knew what a blog was - and now here I am. I figure that this is a great way to journal our family activities - as the kids seem to grow up every day. There is always something funny that one of them does or says, that I think "I've got to write that down".
We are a month into a new school year and finally feel like we are getting into a routine again. Karlee is loving third grade (she is learning cursive!!!) and Carson likes going to school, but isn't so sure about homework (homework in 1st grade consists of reading every day...) but he doesn't want to have to sit down and do anything once he gets home from school. His first words in the door every day are; "Mom!! can I play?" That child has a one track mind!
So, a few "funny" things that I just gotta write down: The first week of school, Carson came home and I asked him how is day was. He said, "good...I pulled 2 cards today." (Pulling cards means he got in trouble - twice). I asked him why and he proceeds to tell me that his teacher told him to pull them. So, I expand my question and ask him what he did to make his teacher tell him to pull a card - he shrugs his shoulders, gives me that innocent face and says, "I don't know." Well, at least he's honest right? Most kids won't come home and tell their mom first off that they pulled cards that day. I've gotta give him kuddos for that - right? We talked to him about doing what he's asked at school and made a goal of not pulling anymore cards. The next week, he comes home and I ask him how his day was and he tells me "good - I didn't pull any cards..." - I get so excited say "yeah" and put my hand up to high-five him - and then he continues his sentence..."only 1!" So, I'm asking myself, since when does only one amount to "I didn't pull any cards today?" This child of mine is always making me laugh and want to pull my hair out at the same time :)
Ok, one more about Carson. My kids walk home with my best friend's children after school every day. So, one day, about 3 weeks into school, my friend calls me and tells me that she hates to do this but her kids are mortified and so she must tattle on my son. I say, what now? Well, apparantly Carson needed to relieve himself on the way home from school - so he pee'd in someone's yard (behind a "for sale" sign)!...Yup...my child!!! So I hang up and ask him about it and he looks at me in total innocence and says, "mom...no one lives there!" Well - apparantly that makes it ok...
Karlee rarely gives us any problems, other than the normal moodiness, sassiness and overall attitute that all 8 year old girls have! She does well in school, loves to read and is taking art lessons from a neighbor. She has a natural talent for art and we hope to encourage her to pursue it. Although, she wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up.
I have recently gotten hooked on digital scrapbooking and am having a great time (yes, LOTS of time) playing in photoshop and creating pages. Trent is wondering what I'm going to do with all of my paper, supplies and other "hybrid" scrap book stuff that I've spent so much $ on. I'm hopeing to continue to do both types - as I enjoy both methods.

Yeah!!! I am so glad you have a blog! So, I've been trying to figure out how you get the cute backgrounds and not the standard blog backgrounds. Can you help me out with that??
I laughed pretty hard regarding Carson's peeing incident! At least he's honest! I just love him!
Tracy,
It sounds like you have lots of fun with your kids. They are both very cute! Someday I will have to get with it and start a blog too. It's a great way to share.
Have a great day!
Kim
