So yesterday, Trent took the plunge that both of us have wanted to do forever - he had lasik surgery done on his eyes. He had his consultation with Dr. Harrie last Saturday and 4 days later, had the procedure done. I took him to his appt. yesterday...his appt was at 2:00 and at 2:35 he walked out - done! In and out...badda bing...he can see! Totally amazing! He had a burning feelings in his eyes until about 6 pm last night. He kept sunglasses on all afternoon and evening last night, had to wear some funky goggles to bed, and woke up this morning able to "see my beautiful wife"...(yeah right...I'm laying in bed next to him barely awake myself...he must want something!) He had a follow up appt. this morning at 11:00 and was able to drive himself to it. It's so amazing what can be done these days. Of course, now I want it done even more than before. We are planning on me having it done next year - so that we can plan for it with our flexible spending account. Mine is going to take more planning and time because I wear hard contacts and will have to transition to soft for a few months and then to glasses before even being able to have it done.
Carson keeps asking daddy if he can "have his contacts". That child...he wants so much to be like daddy. He has one of our extra contact cases, an empty bottle of contact solution that we've put water in, and ever night he goes through the make believe motions of taking out his contacts and putting them into the case. Of course, he also puts them in every morning (along with putting on his travel size deodorant that he took from trent's travel case, and spraying himself with an empty bottle of Trent's cologne). Last year he lost both of my contacts (of course mine are the expensive ones) by trying to put them into his eyes. I looked everywhere in our bathroom trying to find them. Our bathroom is carpet - so we never found them. Carson learned a lesson about touching mommy's contacts - and he also had red eyes for awhile (he must have been able to actually get them in at some point).
Anyway, Trent can see...I still can't...but I'm looking forward to next year!

Wow, that's so great! I'm so jealous. I would have it done in a heartbeat!! I can't even wear my contacts anymore. They just hurt my eyes. Which stinks because I just bought new ones this year. It sounds like Lasiks is definitely worth it! Congrats!
Oh, that boy makes me laugh! That is so cute that Carson wants to be just like his daddy.
Matt will be jealous - he is wanting to get that done. It's amazing what they can do now!
