We had hoped for HOT weather, but had to be content with high 50's - low 60's. Which was still better than the 22 degrees it was at home the morning that we left! We sailed on the Carnival Cruise ship "The Elation". For 3 days we were waited on, served all the food that we wanted (AND we didn't have to cook any of it), slept in, napped when we wanted, watched karaoke (tried to get Trent to do it...if he would've, I would have a great video...but no...), saw Vegas style shows and relaxed!
In Ensenada, we went on a shore excursion. It was horseback riding and it was awesome! I haven't been on a horse for that long since I was a kid! We were taken, by shuttle, through the town and up to a ranch owned by an American named Rita. She has been in Ensenada for 17 years and has run her ranch and the horseback riding ever since. She has a beautiful ranch up above the city. We were assigned a horse and then led up a trail that took us on top of a plateau. We were able to see the ocean, the cruise ship and the city. It truly was beautiful! After about 1 hour and 15 minutes on the horse, we went back to the ranch and were served real Mexican food! Homemade soft shell taco's with homemade salsa. I think that I prefer the American version, though...I guess I'm a snob! The tortilla's were white and looked like flour tortillas, but they tasted like corn tortillas. Anyway, after that, the shuttle was supposed to take us back to the ship. Instead, though, we opted to have it drop us off downtown and we shopped our way back to the ship. It's only about a 15 minute walk to the ship...but because we were shopping and bargaining :) we took us a couple of hours. We had so much fun shopping for little trinkets for our kids. Trent is the master negotiator when it came down to bargaining for our price! One little purse that we bought for Karlee, started out at $14 and we ended up paying $3 for it! Also, I just had to buy some "chicklets" gum from the cute little Mexican boy who was selling it! I bought a whole box of it for $3. Karlee loves gum...so she's been in heaven!

The dreaded, mandatory life boat drill! It doesn't matter how many cruises you've been on...you still have to participate before the ship can leave port!...uugghhh!
They told me that my horse was half horse, half pony...but when it comes down to it...I think I'm bigger than the "horse" that they put me on!
Despite my puny horse - we had a wonderful time on the horseback ride!
It was so much fun to have some much needed time with Trent. He finished up his Master's Degree the week before we went...so that was another "celebration"! Congrats honey...and I love you!
