To start things off, our church had a Halloween Carnival on Saturday night. It was so much fun. They had games for the kids, a cake walk, root beer, popcorn and trick or treating. The trick or treating was great (and SAFE)...the kids just walked around the church to all of the classrooms, where they received a treat! Grace even dressed up for the event...she was the most adorable BYU Cheerleader ever!!! Karlee was a Devil and Carson was a "cop". The kids certainly had a great time!
Then on Halloween, our new friends, the Deason's (Karlee's friend Karley's family) invited us over to their house for a BBQ. We BBQ'd burgers and had a great time visiting and getting to know each other. And then, later, we went trick or treating together. It's great friends like these, who are making this move easier on all of us...as the Holiday's (any Holiday) is going to be a little hard because we are away from our normal "traditions" and family that we've spent them with our whole lives.
A couple of things I noted this Halloween:
1. We missed seeing Mindy's family in their costumes.
2. We missed having our annual Chili for dinner (to warm us up before heading out into the Utah cold to trick or treat. (Many times this chili dinner was shared with Mindy's family and Grandma Yvonne and Grandpa Steve)
3. The kids missed their friends from Utah...as they have always trick or treated with them.
4. We LOVED being able to BBQ on Halloween...instead of needing to eat chili to warm ourselves before going out.
5. Trent LOVED being able to take the kids trick or treating in SHORTS!
6. We LOVED the warm, family feeling that we were able to enjoy with the Deason's...it made 1-3 much easier!
How grateful we are for friends and family - everywhere - as we cherish each and everyone of you!
Now for some pictures:

Tracy...the first thing you need to learn is that we were invited over for dinner where we "grilled" hamburgers. In the South the term BBQ refers to a piece of meat that is slathered in some sauce. People are VERY dissapointed if you invite them over for a BBQ and all you're doing is "grilling" hamburgers.
Sorry I don't leave comments enough, but I do read it. Love reading all about your cute family. Little Grace is getting so big, but still little compared to my chunky monkey. lol. ;)
I'm so glad that you guys had such a fun Halloween! Love the pumpkin pictures. Grace has got to be the cutest little cheerleader around!
