Carson's Writing

One of the main focuses for Carson this year has been essay writing. All of the students in the school have a quarterly "Writes Upon Request" test, where they are given a prompt and have to write an essay on it. Carson has been learning to write expository essay's...how to plan them, proper form, paragraph's etc. The other day, he brought one home that he worked on in class with his writing teacher. It is fabulous and too darn cute for me not to share! So here goes:

Topic: My Little baby sister, Grace
Title: How to take care of a new baby

"I hear Grace crying." It is a good thing I know how to take care of a new baby. I can teach you how to take care of a new baby. You need to know about feeding, changing diapers and playing.

First, you need to know how to feed a new baby. First, you put the water in the bottle. Then you put the bottle in the microwave for sixteen seconds. After that, you put two scoops of formula in the bottle and shake it up. Before you give it to the baby, you need to hold her the right way. Then you can give it to her.

Second, you have to know how to change a baby's diaper. You have to open her diaper and check to see if she pooped or peed. Then, you need to wipe her and put balm and powder. After that, you put a new diaper on her.

Third, you need to know how to play with a baby. You can be silly and make silly faces. You can tickle their belly. Give the baby toys, and love the baby lots and lots.

Now you know how to feed a baby, change a diaper and how to play with the baby. This means you can take care of a baby like I take care of my baby sister Grace.
