He slept and Grandma's and mom said that he was awake at 6 am. They had told him the night before that he couldn't wake them up until 7:00. So, at 6, when he was wide awake, he went into their room and whispered, "grandpa"...
After breakfast, they headed up to Rockport for their adventure. At 10 am, our home phone rang and I saw that it was mom's cell phone number calling. I just knew that it was Carson. I answered the phone and he's practically yelling, "MOM...I caught a fish!" I can hear mom in the background telling him to tell me that it is the biggest one they've ever caught at Rockport, that it is 24 inches and that it nearly pulled him into the lake! They had been there for less than an hour! I couldn't help but smile for the rest of the day, hearing the pure joy in his voice when he called me! It was worth letting him take a day off of school.
He caught one more that day! He brought home his first fish and Trent prepared it and cooked it outside on the BBQ. (I don't let him cook fish in the house...uugghh...too stinky! Anyway, you should have seen Carson shoveling that fish into his mouth! He LOVED it!!
Here's a picture of him pointing to HIS fish...

That's so great that he could have such a special day. I love your scrapbook page!
What a great memory for Carson. Nothing better than one-on-one time with grandparents.
