We (I say we because Trent's been going with) had another Doctor's appointment on Friday. I was just expecting the usual, check urine, weight and heartbeat. The nurse told me that because I wasn't quite 10 weeks, it may be hard to find the heartbeat, but because I'm so thin, it shouldn't be a problem. Then she said that she was going to go dip my urine and that Dr. Archer would be in shortly. Well, less than a minute later, she comes in and tells us to grab our stuff, we were moving to the other room...the ultrasound room. My immediate response was, "what's wrong"? She said nothing was wrong, in fact it was going to be great! Dr Archer had decided rather than spend "forever" (his words" trying to find the heartbeat, that he would just do an ultrasound to find it! I LOVE HIM! I told him that he could do an ultrasound every time if he wanted and that would be just fine by me :)! So, we got to see the baby again, as well as hear the heartbeat again. It is SO AMAZING how much changes in just 2 weeks! When we had our ultrasound two weeks ago, the baby was just a peanut (literally). Today my baby had arms and legs...AND THEY WERE KICKING!!!! At just under 10 weeks, my baby's legs were just a moving! How amazing is that? I just couldn't believe it! It is truly a miracle that these tiny beings are under 2 inches but fully (or close to) functioning! Truly amazing! Anyway, thought I'd share!!!
Dr. Archer has switched my prenatal vitamin in hopes that I wouldn't feel so sick in the evenings. Well, I don't know if it was that, or a combination of me being further along, but I think I'm finally on the downward side of the puking! It seemed to peak and weeks 7-9 and now it seems to be dwindling! Happy day! I still smell everything, some things still don't sit well, but I'm not always running for the bathroom! Yay! (Although, I told my nurse, that being sick wasn't so bad because it reminded me that I was really, truly pregnant. Now, I'm always paranoid that something is wrong because I'm not constantly puking! Oh well, I guess I just can't win!) Although, seeing our baby kicking certainly cemented again in my brain that yes, there's a little baby growing inside me...and it's ok not to be sick!
Can you see it's little feet sticking up there on the left????

I can't believe the difference from the 1st picture to this picture. Man that baby is growing so fast.
Trac, just be GLAD that you're not as sick...believe me!!! In a few weeks you will feel the baby move and that will be reassurance for you. I STILL can't believe you're prego. I told Ryan and his jaw dropped to the floor. We really are SO excited for you guys. I'm glad all is well so far and your little one is growing. It's so amazing how something so small can have legs and arms, fingers and toes. What a miracle.
I love, love, love ultrasounds. It's the best part of being pregnant. It's good to hear you are liking Dr. Archer. I think I'll go with him for my next baby and future exams. My sister likes him too. Good to hear that you're not so sick. Yay!
