Farewell to Family

As excited as I was for our families new adventure in Tallahassee, Florida, I never imagined that it would be so hard to leave family and friends in Utah! I guess I was probably in denial! Saying goodbye to my sister and her family and then getting on that airplane were the hardest things that I've ever done! I am grateful for the knowledge that we will always love each other, that we will always be close, that we will always be friends, no matter how far away we are from each other! That goes for family and friends as well! I've been so blessed in my life with wonderful relationships. My sister Mindy and I have always been so close; you'd think that we were twins because our bond is so strong! I can't imagine my life without her in it...to laugh with, cry with, bring me sugar babies and Diet Dr. Pepper when I was on bed rest, and just be my best friend and shoulder to lean on! I know that this move is hard on her as well...and I pray daily that it will get easier for both of us. Our trips to see each other will definitely be sweet!!!

I have also been so blessed with wonderful friends, whom I love so much! Holly and I have been best friends for the past 5 years and we have learned so much from each other...I am so grateful for her and her love and support. She did (and continues to do) so much for me when I was on bed rest and then while I was getting ready to move. I'm missing Holly so much also! Also, another fabulous friend and neighbor is Carolyn. She coordinated the relief society and elders quorum to help us pack up our house before coming to Florida. Our kids are best friends with each other as well. Carolyn has always been willing to drop everything to chat with me or help me out. She was a fabulous neighbor and friend...and I miss her as well! And of course, there are countless other fabulous woman in my life from Utah, Sam, Amber, Kenzee, Kirsten, Brenda, Kerri, Michelle, Breanne, Cheryl, Brenda, Jen...and SO many others! I miss you all and am so grateful for your friendships!

So, saying goodbye to our family was so difficult. We had a get together at Mindy's house on Thursday night, Aug 12. I bought a Costco cake (there is none better) and we ate cake and cried and laughed. Oma and Opa came out as well as my mom and Steve, Trent's parents, Brad and Danika, Chad and Carolyn and their family, Holly and Kerry and their family...It was bittersweet to have to say goodbye to so many loved ones...but my family was finally going to be together in Florida, and that was/is the most important thing!

So, I'm extremely homesick and I miss you all so much, but my family is TOGETHER!
