Happy Birthday Granny!

On Sunday, the Ladle's (those who are in Utah), gathered in Granny and Grandpa's back yard to celebrate Granny's "90th" Birthday! (She's turned 90 for the last 15 years that I've known her!) Grandpa had a fun Halloween Birthday Party planned for Granny... Each family was given a pumpkin and some markers. Our "job" was to decorate our pumpkin as a family. Grandpa said that there would be prizes given for "funniest", "scariest", and "most original". Meanwhile, Grandpa got the coals going...well he tried to...but Trent came to the rescue and got them going. Grandpa didn't seem to want to do it my way, which is to pour some lighter fluid on them!"

Once the coals were ready, we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores. My kids' personal favorite! Of course, Trent loves s'mores also, and as I recall, he had a few!

Once we were finished, Grandpa gave Granny the honor of judging the pumpkins. Ours won scariest. And...to answer the question that Carson had been asking all night...yes, your family can take the pumpkin home...that is the prize! Carson let out a whoop of glee and then he was ready to go! It was a little difficult, as it always is, to get Trent in the van. He was rehashing Saturday's BYU game with Kent and Britton. I commented to Granny that I wish he would put the same "zeal" into the stuff I need/want him to do as he does with anything related to BYU Football!

We all had a great time celebrating granny once again turning 90! Grandpa threw together a fun activity! Thanks Grandpa!

Looks like fun! I love getting together with family - and what a fun reason too. Who doesn't love a birthday party.
