Mother's Day

Mother's Day was fabulous! I hope that you all had a great one also! Saturday, we went to my mom's for dinner to celebrate. We BBQ'd hamburgers and enjoyed the beautiful spring weather. Sunday morning, I awoke to wonderful gifts from my kids and hubby! Karlee made a darling wooden flower in a terra cotta pot, Carson made me a wooden magnet to hang on the fridge. It has 2 clothes pins on it to hold school work. He also gave me a card that said, "I love you because you are mine." How sweet is that? Trent bought me a Wii fit and then later that day, we picked up the best gift ever...my little Lilly...

So, there's a story behind Lilly...I've been craving the companionship of a dog lately. We used to have dogs and lately I've really missed having one around. So Saturday, Trent took the kids to pick up my gift (the Wii fit). I KNEW that he wasn't getting me a puppy, but I secretly wished for one. So, when he came home, I said, "where's my present?" He said, "is it mother's day?" I said, "oh, I was hoping for something that you'd have to give me right away, something that licks my face and needs to be walked." Trent looks at me like, "what!!!". I hadn't really mentioned wanting a dog to him before now...although the kids have talked about it for months. So, he's like, "uhhh, sorry." I told him I knew he wasn't getting me a puppy...(I didn't want him to feel bad after all:) but that I'd really like to have one. Later that day I got on KSL.com and looked in the classifieds under puppies. And...I found her...listed with 2 of her sisters. They were the last of a littler of 5. They are half daschund, half Yorkie terrier. She is just adorable! So, yesterday, we went and picked her up! Yay!!! Thanks kids and Trent for a wonderful day! I love you guys!!!
