Wakulla Springs = Alligators galore!

On Saturday, Sept 4, we loaded into the van and made for Wakulla Springs...to see us some alligators! Wakulla Springs is about a 45 minute drive from Tallahassee. It is the home of one of the largest and deepest freshwater springs in the world...and it is inhabited by lots of fun wildlife. We took a guided boat tour and saw alligators, birds, turtles, manatees and fish! We loved it! We are definitely loving finding and exploring all of the neat sites and places around Tallahassee...our new home!

"Cypress Knees" ...the roots of the cypress tree are above ground (coming out of the water) and they carry oxygen to the tree! Pretty neat stuff!

How cool is that?

Swimming at Wakulla springs! And yes, they have the swimming area roped off from the gators!

Ah man, you saw a Manatee? We didn't get to see one while we were there. And that water is freezing!
